And exhale! 💆🏼♀️How about just for today (and then tomorrow…) we all stop worrying about getting it right or being perfect. I know I’ve spent so much time as a mother, a daughter, a partner, a friend, a woman with a business trying to get it right and it’s exhausting at times, right? Being the ‘good girl’. So let’s practice forgiving ourselves and being kinder to ourselves? It’s only when we put down the need to get it right (our ego) that we are really true to who we are (our spirit). Someone once said ‘done is better than perfect’, I’ll take that!
Yep, 🙋♀️ I’ve definitely made some thunderously crap decisions in my business… Like the time I ordered letter headed paper 😂, or the time I joined a year long crazy ‘boot camp’ business course and high level mastermind when I already had a successful business and was very ill 😬, or that time I worked with a mentor who’s values I didn’t share… 🤦🏼♀️ Or when I was sucked into the ‘run to the back of the room’ 🏃🏼♀️ at a revolting ‘pitch fest’ masquerading as a business conference (oh they can be so clever in their slimy vomity 🐍🤮 sales techniques) As they say a coin has two sides… I’ve learned from each of these howlers, sure I’ll continue making mistakes – and so will you, let’s not judge ourselves too harshly, let’s always pick ourselves up, brush ourselves down and keep going! 💃🏼 What have been your biggest cock ups? What did you learn?
Love spending time with both my girls… I spent last night with my Anna snuggled up in our hotel. I felt sad kissing her goodbye this morning, yet happy to see her happy and living life her way. ⠀⠀ I’m so grateful for these snap shot moments in time remind me that that my job now as an empty nester Mama is just to love and listen… cutting the apron strings isn’t easy when the bond we share is so strong.
It’s always such a joy to get into a deep and juicy conversation with someone who also shares my passion for breaking the ‘rules’ and creating a new way of living which aligns to your values and truth – even if you’re in midlife! @brilliantgamble Blaire Palmer invited onto her podcast show and we nattered about my experience of selling up and living from my car for 9 months. You can hear the podcast episode here https://abrilliantgamble.simplecast.fm/0a2f43e2 I have to say this convo was one of my favs! Take a listen!
Hi there, I’m Ali and I thought as I have new visitors to my website, I’d introduce myself. ⠀⠀ So I’m an empty nester with 2 grown daughters. My youngest Anna, celebrated her 25th birthday yesterday! 🎈How does quickly time flies. My other daughter is Becky Rui and is a personal branding photographer. ⠀⠀ I’ve been a women’s empowerment coach informally for decades (sometimes coaching took place in ladies bathrooms when a conversation would strike up as we washed our hands and I’d be asked for help 💁🏼♀️😂) I formally trained in 2009. It makes my heart swell with happiness when I witness my clients transform their lives – and often begin or grow their lifestyle businesses. Really does ☺️ ⠀⠀ I was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis when I was 9 years old. I’ve finally at 51 I’ve learned to acknowledge it’s presence in my body. It can be very painful especially when it flares up. Together though, we’ve experienced hip replacements, many smaller surgeries, natural child births, brought up 2 amazing daughters, travelled around the world, danced on flaming bar tops in Kavos, paracended over crystal clear waters in the Seychelles, climbed winding staircases in Germany castles. Most recently, this year spent time in San Diego, LA, visited the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, swam in the Caribbean ocean of Barbados, had an ankle replaced and watched my friends marry in Italy. My arthritis and I continue to experience life together! It doesn’t stop me from much although, it’s taken me a very long time to fully acknowledge and listen to my body’s needs (to rest, to be patient, to say no). Feels better now. ⠀⠀ I’d love to hear from you – share something below about you!
